Head Instructor -
West Chester
Mr. Way has 10 years of wrestling experience and has been
studying the art of Tang Soo Do at the McCormick Karate
Academy since 2001. He was voted Most Outstanding Student by
his fellow classmates in 2001. Ted studies the Israeli art of
combat Self Defense called Haganah. He also trains in tactical
knife fighting, multiple weapon defenses, submission
grappling, sport karate, kick-boxing and street self-defense.
Mr. Way has been teaching martial arts since 2001. Ted is the
head instructor of the McCormick Karate Academy in West
Chester, PA. He continues to compete in tournaments throughout
the United States including NASKA and other open events. A
Multiple Tournament Champion, Ted continues to compete and
find new opportunities to be educated in mixed martial arts.
Ted has been a Chester County resident for 35 years and has
been married for
over 12 years to his wife Sherri. They have a daughter,
Ashley Brooke. Sherri is an active kick-boxer and studies
Women's Self-Defense. Ashley is also a 1st Degree Black Belt
in Tang Soo Do and has been studying the Art at McCormick
Karate Academy since 2000.
Mr. Way is an educated Professional Arborist and Tree Surgeon,
working for Asplundh Tree Expert Company for over 8 years
while maintaining a 100% safety record. During his final two
years he was promoted to Top Climber and Assistant Forman on
the Safety Training Crew. Ted educated and trained new
employees in the proper safety regulations, climbing skills
and safe tool use.
